City shouldn’t push Etowah Terrace

The Etowah Terrace project affects me just like it will to every taxpayer who lives within the city limits even though I don’t live in South Rome.

Though no one disagrees with the need for housing, it is obvious that the minority is trampling the majority in a democracy where majority supposedly rules. We elected our leaders; they didn’t elect us. They are our employees, and we the taxpayers, their employers. The Rome City Commission has forgotten that they answer to us and that ultimately we are the ones who have given them their positions. If you aren’t satisfied with an employee, you terminate their services.

Abraham Lincoln said, “The government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the Earth.”
