Rome police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a Charlton Street residence on Monday, according to a Rome police report.

According to the report:

Police were waved down by a man who said a relative owned the home.

He told police he discovered a smashed basement window but it appeared that the burglar smashed two windows to get through a kitchen door.

Several thousand dollars of jewelry was taken and some medication.

No suspects were listed in the report.
