They were married on Dec. 31, 1962 at Betty’s home in Dalton.
Jimmy grew up in South Rome and retired from the General Service Administration in 1990. He was the Maintenance Supervisor for heating and air conditioning at the United States Post Office in Evansville, Ind., and was in the United States Army Reserve.
Mrs. Goode is the former Betty Jean Pender of Dalton. She graduated from Emory Street High School in 1957 and graduated from Battey State Hospital as an LPN. Betty worked as an LPN for more than 50 years and retired from Deacons Hospital in Evansville, Ind., after 25 years of service.
The couple have two children, Ryan Good of Calhoun and Francine Johnson of Queen Creek, Ariz. They have four grandchildren.
Jimmy enjoys playing a round of golf from time to time and Betty enjoys spending her time at church and traveling.
The couple enjoy spending time with family and friends.
They say their love has grown stronger because of faith in Jesus Christ as well as patience and forgiveness.
