A Lyerly man was taken into custody at a Broad Street restaurant after allegedly grabbing a knife and threatening to stab another patron.

According to Floyd County jail reports:

Benjamin W. Strawn, 32, of 476 Holland-Chattoogaville Road in Lyerly was in a highly intoxicated state when he snatched up a knife and made threats against another man around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mellow Mushroom.

When police arrived and put Strawn in handcuffs, he reportedly said that he would find out where the victim lived and would come and kill him and his family.

Strawn is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts, felony aggravated assault and a misdemeanor count of public drunkeness.

He was being held in the Floyd County jail without bond Sunday night.
