Mr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Whitte Sr. of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter, Denise Elizabeth Coggins, to Christopher Eric Owen Kennedy, son of Jennifer d. Pollack of Rome and the late Mark Owen Kennedy of New Orleans, La.

Miss Coggins is a 2002 graduate of Bethel Holiness Academy located in Jacksonville, Fla. She is employed at Dominos Pizza in Rome.

The bride-elect is the sister of Robert White Jr. of Rome, Nancy McWilliams of Woodstock, Jeri Willis of Smyrna, Vinson Willis of Canton and Carla Reed of Jacksonville, Fla. She is the mother of Christy, Zachary and Harley Coggins, and the granddaughter of the late A.C. White and the late Ruby Bishop of Rome.

Kennedy is a 2002 graduate of Rome High School. He is currently employed at Temple Inland/International Paper. He is the grandson of Doyce and Mattie Davis of Rome and the late Margaret D. Davis.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 28, 2013. Invitations will be sent.
