Three Berry College students have earned study abroad scholarships to take their firsthand experience international.

Latanza McCarver, a Cartersville, Ga. honor student and Spanish major, received a Diversity Scholarship from Spanish Studies Abroad to study in Cordoba, Argentina this spring.

“I hope to fully experience the culture and enhance my language skills. This scholarship has given me the means to see more of Argentina than I would have been able to financially afford before,” McCarver said.

Brianna Gibson, from Ringgold, Ga., was awarded a scholarship from the American Institute for Foreign Study. Hibah Abuhamdieh, of Schenectady N.Y., received the Murdoch University Sponsored Scholarship and will join Gibson to study in Australia. Gibson, an animal science major, hopes to volunteer with a wildlife rescue facility to gain experience with their unique wildlife. Abuhamdieh, also an animal science major, said she chose Murdoch University for its strong veterinary program and diverse culture.
