No word yet from Rome and Floyd County schools but Bartow County schools have decided not to open.
The Cartersville Patch is reporting Excel Christian Academy also has canceled Friday's classes.

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for most of north and central Georgia.

Friday’s forecast for the local area calls for a 60 percent chance of rain throughout the day, with temperatures as low as 33 degrees and a high of 42 degrees. Rain beyond 1 p.m. is not expected to be freezing.
The following day’s forecast is both drier and warmer. Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high of 48 degrees.
