Mrs. Robert Franklin Dewling III
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bruce Hunter of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clyde Herron and Mrs. Harold Frierson Hunter.
The groom is the son of Dr. Karen and Robert Franklin Dewling Jr. of John’s Creek. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Dewling Sr. and Dr. and Mrs. David Andrew Blake.
Reverend Janice Bracken Wright of Rome performed the double ring ceremony. Organist Wanda Cantrell of Rome, and trumpeter Adam Hayes of Rome provided the music. Selections included “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” “Canon in D” and “Wedding March.”
Family seating was designated with bouquets of roses and seasonal foliage. Altar arrangements were comprised of ivory garden roses, ivory Escimo roses, and seasonal foliage.
Jessica Beth Outten of Atlanta, Abigail Nancy Spencer of Baton Rouge, La., Lindsey Ann Wells of Atlanta, Laine Adair Voccio of Atlanta, Gillis Talley Rowston of Salt Lake City, Utah, Madalyn Marie Dewling, sister of the groom, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Eva Hurst Herron, cousin of the bride, of Atlanta were the bridesmaids. They wore formal strapless gowns of navy satin with pleated cummerbund accents at the waist. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of ivory roses with accents of iridescent spray and seasonal foliage wrapped with navy satin.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a formal gown of ivory satin. The strapless gown featured an inverted pleat and bow detail along the front bodice, was fitted through the hip and finished into a cathedral-length train, which was also accented with a satin bow. A cathedral-length tulle veil completed the look. She carried a bouquet of ivory garden roses and ivory Escimo roses, wrapped with heirloom lace from the bride’s grandmother. Additionally, the bonnet worn by the groom as an infant was incorporated into the handle of the bouquet. Both items served as the bride’s “something old.” The gown was new, and the bride borrowed a pearl necklace from her aunt, Julie Herron Carson, an heirloom that had belonged to her great-grandmother. A sapphire ring, given to the bride by the groom, was the “something blue.”
Clifton Tyler Andre Robertson of Monterrey, Calif., Marc Steven Mastrangelo of Atlanta, Robert Charles Burns of Athens, George Messner Lane of Greensboro, N.C., Nicholas James Harris of Houston, Texas, Paul Ashby Foltz III of Atlanta, Michael Andrew Stratton of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and Patrick Christopher Hunter, brother of the bride, of Rome were the groomsmen. Nicholas Clay Carson of Atlanta attended the programs at the ceremony.
The mother of the bride wore a formal gown of pewter matte jersey with three-quarter sleeves and a surplice V-neckline. A sparkling pewter wrap completed the ensemble. The mother of the groom wore a formal strapless gown of iridescent periwinkle taffeta, featuring a tiered skirt and beaded embellishments along the bodice and hem with a matching taffeta wrap. The mothers and grandmothers of the couple were presented with bouquets of ivory roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Coosa Country Club. Refreshments included the bride’s five-tier confection of traditional vanilla cake filled with cream cheese and raspberry pastry cream. Each tier was separated by a lush collection of ivory roses and white mums.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Rome Area History Museum. Other pre-nuptial parties included an engagement celebration hosted by Sam and Andrew Berry, Shields and Jack Harris, Emily and Peter Hjort, Rosa and Jimmy Kelley, Nancy and Jack Knight, Shelly and Jeff Peller, Ginger and Joe Rowston, Angie and Jo Stegall, Susan and Lanny Thomas, and Molly and Dee Yancey; a Bachelorette Weekend in Tampa, Fla., hosted by Jessica Outten; a Bachelor Weekend in Las Vegas attended by the groomsmen and friends of the groom; a Wine and Cheese party hosted by Margaret and Mike Crego; a Bridesmaids’ Brunch hosted by Virginia Herron, Julie Herron Carson, and Marcy Herron; a luncheon for out of town guests hosted by David and Nancy Hunter, Laura Hunter and Nancy Hunter.
After their honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple resides in Atlanta.
