The film is both written and produced by local attorney Bill Lundy.
Thompson, known for his role in the television series “Law and Order” and his work in major motion pictures such as “Die Hard 2,” and “The Hunt for Red October,” agreed to appear in the film is in town today.
Lundy’s film, inspired by a true story, follows a small town attorney undertaking the biggest case of his career to a record jury verdict while overcoming many obstacles along the way. The film is set in the fictional town of Harper, Ala. “We all have a story to tell, and this one is mine.” Lundy said, discussing the focus of his project. “The film has a strong, moral message to which I hope everyone can relate.”
Previous filming of the project took place in and around Cedartown in August and October 2012.
Thompson has been cast in the role of a retired senior partner to the film’s law firm and will also fill the role of mentor, confidante and advisor. “The role of an attorney will not be a stretch for Thompson,” Lundy said. “He began his career as a small town lawyer and starred as himself in the film “Marie,” a true story about a whistleblower in Tennessee government.” Thompson was also a junior prosecutor in the Watergate trials in 1974.
In addition to his interest in law, Thompson has also spent time in the political arena. He ran for president of the United States in 2008 and served as a U.S. senator in Tennessee, chairing several committees. Additionally, he served as chairman of the international security advisory board at the United States Department of State and served on the senate Foreign Relations Committee.
The release date for “A Larger Life,” has not yet been set, according to Lundy. Once completed, he has plans to enter the project in film festivals.
