Prep basketball: Region 7-AA tourney takes a break today

After two days of intense action, the Region 7-AA basketball tournament will have an "off day" today.

The tournament will resume on Friday at Georgia Highlands with the semifinals. The pairings are:

4 p.m. GIRLS: Armuchee vs. Calhoun

5:30 BOYS: Coosa vs. Calhoun

7 p.m. GIRLS: Model vs. Dade County

8:30 p.m. BOYS: Model vs. Dade County

The third-place games and the championship games will be played on Saturday at GHC.

All of the teams involved in Friday's action have secured spots in next week's state tournament.
