CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Police say a car crash in Cartersville left seven people — including a sheriff's deputy — injured.

WXIA-TV reports the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 41 near Zena Drive around 6:30 Friday evening.

Authorities say four people were taken to Cartersville Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, one was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital and three were treated on the scene by medics.

Bartow county Sheriff's Sgt. Jonathan Rogers says the deputy was not seriously injured.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
