Report: Man gets felony drug charge after police find marijuana at the jail

A traffic stop led to a felony drug charge after police found a bag of marijuana on a man once he was at the jail, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Edward Stephen Thompson, 24, of 1620 Livingstone Road, Rome was stopped by Floyd County Police on Black’s Bluff Road and charged with failure to maintain lane and DUI.

When Thompson got to the jail, a bag of marijuana was found.

Thompson faces an additional charge of felony possession of drugs across the guard line and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.’

He remained in jail on Wednesday morning.
