The Georgia Department of Labor is teaming with Mohawk to help fill job vacancies for experienced twisting operators at the facility. The company is requiring a minimum of six months of manufacturing or tufting machine experience.
Mohawk representatives will be accepting resumes and conducting interviews Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Rome Career Center, 462 Riverside Parkway, and at the Dalton Career Center on Chattooga Avenue.
They’ll be back again during the same time period on March 11.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age because of U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. They must also have a high school diploma or a GED and bring two forms of identification.
Mohawk offers a number of benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, healthy life centers and a 401k plan.
The Calhoun-based company recently announced plans to buy Spano Invest NV in Belgium, the Marazzi Group in Italy and multinational flooring manufacturer Pergo. An expansion at its Summerville plant was announced in late 2012 following the shuttering of its spun yarn plant in Rome in 2011.
The company currently employs more than 25,000 workers worldwide.
