Hope Boyd, a junior at Pepperell High School, has been named March 2013 Teen of the Month by Teens in the Driver's Seat. Boyd is featured on the website t-driver.com. Teens in the Driver Seat is a peer-to-peer safety program for America's youth in California, Texas, Georgia and Montana. Started in 2002, Teens in the Drivers Seat was the first peer-to-peer program for teens that focused solely on traffic safety.

Boyd is the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) vice-president for Pepperell High School. She is also a member of the Governor's Commission on Teen Driving and vice-chair of the Impaired Driving sub-committee. Her work on the subcommittee involves serving as a representative looking at revamping the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) program. March 17th and 18th, she will travel to Atlanta to present Legislation directly to Governor Nathan Deal. The Commission's mission is to lower the teen crash rate to zero. "I am involved to help promote safe driving because too many innocent people die or are life-long affected because other people’s ignorance," Boyd said. "If our SADD club can get the message to at least one of our teens in the community then who knows, we could save a family’s life."
