The Shorter University softball games scheduled for today against the University of Alabama-Huntsville at Alto Park have been postponed, school officials said early this morning.

The makeup date was not announced.

The doubleheader against UAH was slated to be the debut of Shorter's new-look softball facility. But for now, that is on hold.

Shorter is riding a 12-game winning streak and is off to a 13-1 start this season.

Several upgrades have been made to Shorter’s home field at Alto Park, including a new scoreboard, more foul territory, an outfield fence that is now 12-feet high and is fronted by a new warning track, more room behind home plate, and improvements to the dugouts and bullpens.

“Without the help of the City, the County and Todd Wofford and the entire Parks and Recreation Department, this couldn’t have been done,” said Shorter softball coach Al Thomas. “It’s drop-dead gorgeous.”
