Job seekers in northwest Georgia will have a special opportunity on Wednesday, March 27, to connect with local employers looking to fill vacant positions.

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Industry Council are teaming up to host the 2013 Northwest Georgia Career Expo. It will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Walker County Civic Center, located at 10052 North Highway 27 in Rock Spring.

Applicants should bring several copies of their resume, dress professionally, and be prepared to interview on site.

Approximately 35 employers will attend the expo, looking to hire qualified staff members. There will be representatives from companies that want to fill a number of jobs. They include manufacturing jobs such as assemblers, twisters, creelers, warehouse workers, forklift operators, machine operators, material handlers, maintenance technicians and commercial drivers license (CDL) truck drivers. There will also be several retailers looking to fill vacant slots, as well as job openings in healthcare and social services.
