A man accused of running a chop shop was arrested Monday, Floyd County Jail records state.

Johnny Thomas Fuqua, 56, of 115 Old Airport Road, is charged with theft by receiving and operating a chop shop, both felonies, reports state.

According to records, Fuqua dismantled a 1996 Ford Ranger between January 2012 and last month, selling parts of it out of his home. Authorities discovered on Feb. 19 that Fuqua had the Ranger, which had been reported stolen.

Fuqua was being held late Monday without bond, jail officials said.
