CALHOUN — Angie Gillman, a tactical dispatch team commander with Gordon County 911, recently received the Leadership in Service Award during the 2013 Georgia Emergency Communication conference in Athens.

The Leadership in Service Award is given to an individual employed within a communications center in recognition of their outstanding service and dedication to the agency.

Sgt. Gillman joined the staff at Gordon County 911 in 2000. Since that time she has worked her way up the chain to become a shift supervisor.

Award recipients are chosen from a slate of nominees from around the state.
