AUGUSTA — A Department of Corrections officer who allegedly lied about his role in the escape of a prisoner at the Medical College of Georgia has yet to face disciplinary action.

Officer Albert Andrews was overpowered and disarmed by a prisoner in the hospital’s restroom in April. He had removed the inmate’s shackles and handcuffs, which is a violation of protocol, according to a report from District Attorney Danny Craig
