Miss Rome is an open scholarship pageant for a girl that wishes to represent Rome at the Miss Georgia Pageant and do community service in the Rome area. Many of the contestants were from surrounding areas such as Summerville, Trion, etc....it's one of the few local Miss America Preliminaries in the North Georgia Area so it is very popular amongst the girls that wish to return to Miss Georgia as well.
