America would be like heaven without illegals

If Americans do not take a stand and stop Mexican illegals, their advocates and the ACLU, they will destroy America as Hitler and the Nazis attempted. They will succeed without ever firing a shot. They are running this country and have no respect for it, our laws or anything upon which it was founded.

They are not telling the truth. They want amnesty for the millions here with 35 million relatives still in Mexico. They would create a race for whom American workers must provide everything. We will become a mirror image of Mexico.

Democrats want Mexican illegals, most of whom receive benefits intended for legal immigrants who cannot care for themselves, so they will vote as Democrats. Republicans do not want the Mexican illegals made legal because would not be able to continue exploiting them.

Illegals have broken in front of people who have waited in line to come to citizens legally. Give them only a one-way trip back to Mexico.

It is a shame Rome has senators and a representative  who care nothing about Georgians. To show how disingenuous all three are, they voted against the stimulus bill, but all took some of the funds. How can they be trusted to help us? All three should be voted out of office.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, said preachers should start telling their members how great these illegals are. Now our government is telling preachers they should start lying. Deportation of all illegal Mexicans and their anchors is the only solution. Anyone who hires one is destroying America for the next generation.

Vincente Fox said imagine America without illegal Mexicans. I imagine it would be almost heaven.

You'll need to explain what you mean. I used correct grammar, and I think I got my point across very succinctly in only a few words. Of course, you might disagree with what I wrote, but you have yet to prove that is is wrong.

So: ARE there illegal people? Please cite something in the U.S. Constitution identifying such a person.

Let's not be ignorant, and try to educate ourselves a bit on issues that affect everyone such what wer're talking about today. First off it's not "illegal" immigrant but undocumented immigrant. As far imagining it to be "almost heaven", heaven's doors are open to all. I don't think you'll find any disclosures in the Bible about race, ethnicity or nationality, therefore "almost heaven" is quite an exaggeration. Let's not generalize Democrats/Republicans. You may be from one party or the other but may not agree 100% on all issues. You may be a Democrat who agrees with you on immigration issues; or a Republican who opts to be an advocate for undocumented immigrants. Either way, the reality is that America needs immigrants. They are a true labor force in this country. They don't take away jobs because the jobs they have are usually low paying and invlove hard labor, and for the most part no one really wants. I once saw an online news video that reflected this. The news clip was about how the recent crack on immigration had affected a peach farm, the farm was left with only a few migrant workers to pick the peaches, the owners tried to recruit workers e.g. high school students, stay at home moms, and the unemployed no one showed and most of the fruit was rotting on the trees. This is just one example of many. Though many things need to be resolved on migrant farm worker issues. Next time we all eat an apple, a peach, a strawberry and so on, let's be grateful for it and bless the hands that picked it, for our refridgerator maybe empty if we were in your " almost heaven"

REM does not really believe what he's writing. It is, at least, an attempt at humor. Here's how we know... Anybody who is stupid enough to say something like, "there is no such thing as illegal people. There are only illegal acts." would never make it to an age old enough to type it into a computer. Do a google search for "Darwin Awards" and you'll see. Even the people who made it to that list have higher brain function capabilities than to say something like that (and actually believe it).

So, the only thing left that could explain is humor. That makes much more sense. For me, it was a good thing the bathroom is close to the computer because I almost wet myself I was laughing so hard after I read that comment. I almost didn't make it. From now on, I'm going to make sure my bladder is empty and I'm not drinking a glass of water or something when I see "RealEstateMystic" because I might wet myself or choke on the water from the humor he writes.

But, just for kicks, you could complete his own sentence... "[There are only illegal acts] like crossing the border illegally, not paying taxes on income, while at the same time sucking away medical resources, education resources, and tons of other services from those that do have honest jobs, pay their taxes, and try to better the community." ...But that's not the point. The main thing REM was trying to do was get a few laughs. And if laughter is the best medicine... Lot's of people just added about 150 years to their life expectancy from REM's comment. Thanks. YOU DA MAN!

MIKYGA writes: "'Illegals' is part of the vernacular."

I can think of other terms for ethnic minorities that were once "part of the vernacular," and no longer in widepsread use. That's weak tea, MIKY.

If somebody hadn't come forward and reminded you people that terms like this, however convenient for bloggers and pundits, are ultimately dehumanizing, you'd have continued to use it carelessly. I'm sure posters will continue to do so. But now that I have struck a nerve with this grain of truth, I will continue to use it.

Well REM, although I thank you for the initial "no such thing as illegal people" comment, because it is true, it also seems to me that TomParks meant it as more of a play on words. But if you'd like to demonstrate the difference it seems that your comment might be best directed toward Mr. Landrum or suggesting to the editors of RNT to make an editor's note at the bottom.

"Illegals" is part of the vernacular, especially in the context of a letter to the editor and newspaper "blogs". If you are going to argue about the term then your energies might be best served when "illegals" appears in an actual newspaper article or newscast.

And while I agree with upholding laws and ordinances I also advocate common sense.

MIKYGA writes: "Nitpicky much?"

If you're going to advocate strict adherence to the rule of law, by definition you're advocating nitpicking. In legal matters, one man's "nitpick" is another's statutes and ordinances.

(Hint: I'm assuming your choice of "nitpick" is an oblique reference to one of my own posts, in which the nits being picked were not legal ones.)

Like I also said, "Ignorant Americans". Ring a bell?

If one would try reading something more than RNT and Websters dictionary every once in awhile, they might actually become more of a well informed blogger.

This isn't just a theory that I myself came up with. There are several well documented facts out there. I guess it depends on what wing you are brainwashed by, weather you choose to ignore it or not. I consider myself affiliated to none.

Dig around yourself. All of your misconceptions could be cleared up. That is, if you could dig your head out of the sand long enough.

JPT writes: "Most can't even figure out why the country is really in the shape it's in."

And you can? Why hasn't the Nobel committee -- oops, excuse me -- the Heritage Foundation or somebody given you the recognition you deserve for teasing apart this incredibly complex problem? Your theory is that it all goes back to illegal immigrants. I would be interested to read your white paper on this topic. And no links to right wing websites, please.

Thanks!

Why is it that Dems always get a bad rap when it comes to illegal immigration when you look back in history, the conservative nutbag named Ronald Reagan was the one who granted AMNESTY to the compadres? Also, the 2nd amnesty was proposed by the worst conservative nutbag and hero to Rome, GA, mr George W. Bush. Now when you look in retrospect, more illegals have entered the United States under the watchdogs of George W Bush than any other persident. Republicans dosuch a great job making you think the Democrats want this, but it's vice versa. Republicans are being financed by the same corporations that hire illegals.

Ignorant Americans take a stand? Most can't even figure out why the country is really in the shape it's in.

Massive unemployment, foreclosures, failing banks, budget revenue shortfalls, dwindling resources and services, laying off teachers and closing schools, escalating out of control health care costs, insurance covering less and less.

But while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, look at who is really making out like a bandito. The infamous illegal alien.

Tax free jobs, welfare, healthcare, and free lunch education.

Living the dream!

I couldn't agree more. Thank you for recovering your sanity and getting to the issue that matters (immigration law) as oppoosed to the one that doesn't (Nazis).

The question is not how citizens vote but the harm done by illegal immigrants, who have no right to vote or right to any service except basic emergency medical care or Christian charity.

We have laws for legal immigration and we want and need immigrants, but ENFORCE our laws.

Mystic, you must have far too much idle time.

The real threat of the Nazis was the destruction of Europe, but many courageous US men and women

chose to rescue Europe.

Those who choose to enter our country illegally and employers who choose to employ them illegally

may well prove to bring about the destruction of our culture without ever firing a shot. What you need rather than offering up limbs is a good old fashion switching.

swissman: What drivel did I post below? I merely cited the letter writer's outrageously silly opening sentence, which I assume you agree with. Are you really sure you want to identify with somebody who compares our immigration problem to World War II? Because if you do, here's the limb if you want to walk on it.
