The Rome Chiefs lost early on Tuesday, but rebounded with a win to put themselves in the 16-year-old Dizzy Dean World Series Championship Game.

The Chiefs fell to the Mosley Dolphins, 3-1, in the morning on Tuesday in Southaven, Miss., but were able to beat J.P.R.D East, 5-4, in extra innings to force a rematch with Mosley.

The two teams will meet at 9 a.m. today, and if the Chiefs win there will be a decisive Game 2.

The 12-year-old Rome Renegades were defeated by the Blount County All-Stars, 8-6, in the first game of championship bracket play.

The Renegades will face the Jemison All-Stars today at 10 a.m. in the third-place game.
