NEW YORK (AP) — Two men carrying Mexican flags ran into the outfield during the seventh inning of the New York Mets' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night at Citi Field.

The men were apprehended by security fairly quickly without much incident.

Before the game, about 40 demonstrators across the street from the ballpark protested Arizona's immigration law, chanting "Oppose racism!" and "Boycott Arizona!"

Others stationed closer to the subway exit handed out leaflets that requested Major League Baseball move next year's All-Star game out of Phoenix.

"It's not going to distract me. I'm here to play baseball," Diamondbacks interim manager Kirk Gibson said after his team's 9-6 victory over the Mets. "You have an opinion, I have an opinion. They have the right to say what they want, but it's no distraction."

What ever your background, race, roots or other thing you take pride in… While in America realize we are Americans and we are proud of it. Say what you want to say but we will say what we want as well and are not afraid to defend her. Some think loud mouthed immigrants with anti American speech is a new phenom. We used to make it a national pride when one of our own defended her honor. Now we are told to “shut up you racist pigs. Don’t you believe in free speech?” Yea I believe you are free to speak while I bust you a new one. We need more Rick Mondays.

I have a Permanent Resident Card. I carry it around with me all the time. My only fear is if I get mugged, my identity gets stolen too. Then again, they would take my Drivers license as well but the cost of replacing my PR card is so much more than my DL. That being said, I really have no problem with carrying my card. I am legal and if asked by whomever, I will show them. I don't understand why they're making a big song and dance in Arizona that people have to show their ID upon request. They should make it mandatory nationwide. Show some form of government ID.

Excuse me Voter, but I have a life, thank you. I just need people from other countries not to conflict with it, which includes you. I also need criminals who break our laws to be locked up, so I can honestly tell my children that our system of justice is fair and impartial, and not corrupt. I wonder if you sympathize with other criminals as well? How about the guy who breaks into someones house and steals stuff to sell, just because he was broke and his baby needed milk and diapers? Oh no, that would be considered burglary! A crime punishable by up to 15 years hard labor. Same thing if you ask me.

Voter-You are an idiot! How in the world did you ever come to the conclusion, that I did not have a job, simply based from my comment about Mexican flag waving? Unlike a lot of unfortunate people that had their jobs stolen, I actually happen to be working, you fool.

Maybe you just need to head back down to Mexico with the rest of the bandito's, crooks, and theives, and go wave your Mexican flag down there!

If you are not going to wave the American flag in this country, then go back to wherever you came from! And I don't care where that is! The rest can go to jail as far as I am concerned!

I happen to only hate lawbreaking criminals who get special favortism, which I have to help pay for.

Looks like the Mexicans have finally taken over, waving their flags around like troops in captured territory. They didn't even have to fire that many shots, besides the killing of a few border patrol agents and couple of ranchers. It was like a silent invasion, even stealth-like there for awhile. Remember the Alamo!

The article says, "The men were apprehended by security fairly quickly without much incident" but that photo suggests otherwise. Lol.

And Hoyt, there's nothing in this story that says or even suggests that they are illegals. If you were a dark-skinned, American-born resident, you'd be concerned about your civil liberties too.

This isn't about protecting those without rights...just the opposite, actually.
