Shayne Sledge, a former owner of Rome Cleaners, has joined forces with Patrick Bentley, formerly of Alpharetta, to open Sledgepro Services Inc.

Bentley said the business specializes in water restoration carpet cleaning and that the partners have invested in the latest technology for extracting water from carpet and drying out damaged flooring.

Sledge of course has a family history in the professional fire and water restoration industry and decided to go back to his roots after selling Rome Cleaners.

Bentley was one of the largest dry cleaning operators in Gwinnett County before moving to Rome.

Both Sledge and Bentley have attended classes and are fully trained in the latest technologies by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in Dothan, Alabama.

Bentley said the partners typically are able to get to a job within a couple of days after being contacted and do provide cost estimates before any work is done.

The firm can be contacted at 706-238-2880.

Really, I sent a press release and had it printed within 48 hours. Never seem to be a problem getting the word out for small businesses and events in the area.

WolfMike is right, the newspaper is always looking for news on new and existing businesses. For the Small Business Snapshot, business owners can call the newsroom at 706-290-5252 to get details. Or send Doug Walker a press release if you prefer at 305 E. 6th Ave, Rome, GA 30161. You don't have to know someone. You just have to let the newspaper know you have a new business. We consider new businesses opening in our community to be news. So let us know please :)

It would be kinda nice if every small business starting up in this county received this amount of free advertising. Same old story, ya have to know someone.
